The first blockchain phone HTC’s Exodus

HTC was the first mobile company to launch phone that is focused on blockchain technology and crypto coins. The only downside is that you can buy it only with cryptocurrency (soon HTC realise that a lot of people are touching crypto for the first time by buying this phone, so they now accept PayPal and Credit Cards).

  • HTC’s phones comes with a secluded area kept separate from the Android operating system it runs on to keep a customer’s cryptocurrency and private keys safe.
  • The blockchain-based phone is part of HTC’s shifting strategy regarding smartphones, which will prioritize software and intellectual property.

Phil Chen, HTC’s decentralized chief officer :

“And the reason why you do a blockchain phone is … for everybody just to own their own keys. Everything starts there. When you start owning your own keys, then you can start owning your own digital identity, then you can start to own data.”

Other than its blockchain features, the Exodus 1 also includes:

A 16 megapixel dual main camera and an 8MP dual front camera with 4K video.

A six inch display with quad-HD+ resolution.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

Six gigabytes of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Lets hope other company (Apple / Samsung) jump on the crypto scene and produce there own crypto based phone.
